About
sarah chalmers
I moved to British Columbia from Ontario in 2009, drawn by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. That pull led me into conservation and ecology, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology. My work took me across North America—from studying spotted owls in Arizona and New Mexico, to songbirds in Northern BC, and northern goshawks on Vancouver Island.
In 2019, I began my tattoo apprenticeship in Squamish under the guidance of Justin Ormiston, and had the privilege of also learning from my colleague and friend Alex Wigley. Tattooing has challenged me in so many ways—it demands growth, discipline, and constant evolution. It’s a path I’m deeply committed to, and one that I’m proud to walk both personally and professionally.
My favourite part of tattooing is the connection that occurs between myself and the people who choose to wear my art. Tattooing is a collaborative process built on trust. The fact that someone chooses to carry my art with them for life is something I will always respect and be grateful for.
From one nerd to another, thank you for being here.
